Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Redmond, Washington

Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.

The Supply Chain Innovation Product group focuses on building a product to address Supply Chain traceability needs to address regulatory requirements from across the world. We are seeking a Software Engineer II to contribute to the product innovation efforts within Cloud Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on component design, coding and unit testing.

  • Work closely with the product PM’s, product architect and other engineers to turn architectural design into detailed design and code.

  • Identifying dependencies and technical challenges and finding solutions to overcome through attention to detail and clear communication both verbal and written.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 1+ year of Azure Service knowledge (Microsoft Entra ID authentication, App Services, Functions, Message Eventing, App Services), Azure DevOps and Relational databases.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of software design and development experience with middle tier or backend services.

  • 5+ years hands on experience in any Object-Oriented coding language such as C++, C#, Java or Python or equivalent experience with C.

  • Cloud and services experience; Azure cloud experience.

  • Ability to communicate technical details clearly.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
