Ecolab Inc Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Global Hand Care in Eagan, Minnesota

Ecolab is seeking aSenior Mechanical Engineerto operate within the Research, Development and Engineering group. This position will focus on developing high importance equipment projects for the Hand Care & Healthcare business units. Challenge yourself to create innovative control and dispensing systems that improve the user experience, safety, and value for our customers. This position will entail a variety of engineering work encompassing new product development and current product support. You will perform various mechanical and system design activities, including design, analysis, component and system level testing, manufacturing transfer, and post launch support. What's in it For You: The opportunity to take on some of the world's most meaningful challenges, including helping our customers achieve proper hand hygiene to help prevent the spread of infection and foodborne pathogens The support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our best What You Will Do: Participate in new product design and development of chemical dispensers and control systems Support the mechanical engineering responsibilities for new product development process from early concept development through post launch Test, evaluate, and analyze dispensing systems to determine or prove performance and reliability Investigate and implement design improvements for quality, manufacturing, and cost improvements Perform research, product design, and testing, for product improvement for new and launched products Support releasing and modifying equipment specifications, through the ECR and ECO processes Work closely with external vendors and suppliers for component selection, molded and fabricated part approvals, and troubleshooting Independently manage your assignments for multiple projects including individual work and contributions to multi-disciplinary teams Work as a part of cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with other engineers, chemists, manufacturing, technical service, and supply chain Act as a subject matter expert and divisional liaison for Ecolab's hand care equipment portfolio Minimum Qualifications: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, with 2 years engineering experience in product development and/or product testing No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of plastic component design, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing processes Knowledge of sheet metal component design, fabrication, assembly and manufacturing processes Experience creating 3D models and drawings with SolidWorks, or equivalent, including Finite Element Analysis Experience developing test procedures and methods, and execution of tests Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team while handling multiple tasks or projects Creative-thinking and concept design skills Project management experience High attention to detail Excellent analytical and decision-making skills Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Benefits Ecolab strives to provide comprehensive and market-competitive benefits to meet the needs of our associates and their families.to see our benefits.
