A Data Developer is a professional responsible for the efficient collection, transformation, and storage of data, enabling data scientists and analysts to extract valuable insights and drive business growth.

Under the direction of the Senior Data Engineer (BI & Analytics Team Lead), this resource will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, and data storage solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the direction of the Senior Data Engineering (BI & Analytics Team Lead) implement and manage end-to-end data pipelines that collect, process, and transport data from various sources to storage and analytical systems.

  • Provide flexible solutions in a rapid paced environment and react to changes in solutions as the analytics used in the business change.

  • Under the direction of the Senior Data Engineering (BI & Analytics Team Lead), understand and promote ETL standards and governance.

  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data.

  • Ensure standards are used so that the solutions deployed have technical integrity and stability.

  • Contribute to the Data Engineering Center of Excellence through maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation of data pipelines, processes, and data flow, as well as the tools used (Python, Databricks, Airflow, Dash, DBT etc.).

  • Build cross-functional relationships with Business Stakeholders, Architects, Data Scientists, BI Managers, DevOps Engineers, and Business Partners to understand data needs and help projects and agile teams deliver on those needs.

SKILLS & RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, SQL.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines.

  • Understanding of data warehouses, data modeling concepts, and data principles.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.

  • Nice to have: experience with Tableau; ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow) for building and managing data pipelines and knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure)
