Position Summary:

  • Possess the knowledge and skills to provide instruction to secondary students in Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus

  • Demonstrate the ability to plan, model, and deliver rigorous learning experiences

  • Identify and apply relevant educational research-based instructional strategies

  • Develop engaging and differentiated lessons, assignments, and assessments

  • Utilize relevant technology and resources for optimal engagement and differentiation

  • Provide timely, appropriate, and actionable feedback to students

  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies

  • Maintain and utilize accurate and comprehensive documentation and evidence of students' progress and development

  • Communicate regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs

  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with learners from diverse backgrounds

  • Manage student behavior through positive behavior interventions and support

  • Support social-emotional strategies to facilitate student development in self and social awareness and responsible decision-making

  • Participate and engage in professional learning experiences that support professional growth and collaboration with colleagues

  • Engage in research activities to further the school’s mission and to generate advancements in teaching and learning

  • Assist with FAU’s ALEKS Math placement test

  • Participate in various math competitions

  • Participate in high school activities and initiatives to recruit and orient students

  • Perform other duties as assigned

The candidate selected for the position will be required to have fingerprinting done at the FAU Police Department and a background check done by the school.
