We are seeking a New Product Introduction (NPI) and Ops Readiness Program Manager to help us fuel AWS’ explosive growth. You will be responsible for successful enablement of new products into the channel of rack manufacturers. The PM will be the one driving reviews and defining the criteria working with various stakeholders for arriving at agreed set of NPI metrics ranging from design for manufacturing, assembly, test and supply chain. You will ensure the right materials, test scripts, material availability and overall program success to accelerate new product deployment. The right individual will partner cross functionally with hardware engineering, suppliers, design, quality, contract manufacturers, and volume production teams during solution development lifecycle into full production. Possessing strong leadership, influencing skills, and technical depth are critical elements of success for this role. This leader will establish manufacturing standards and publish process control guidelines to assure flawless ramp into volume manufacturing.

Key job responsibilities

· Leader for all aspects of operational readiness at the program level.

· Define and guide decisions on variable engagement module, appropriate for the specific product and schedule.

· Coordinate information flow across teams in support of manufacturing and operations.

· Drive alignment of processes and initiatives throughout the Product Operations organization.

· Work with Product Ops lead to handle training sessions on product development process and associated focused topics.

· Create and maintain clear, user-friendly process documentation: templates, tools, process maps, graphical representations, etc.

· Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional alignment and stakeholder buy-in. Define and track key performance metrics for product development to measure process efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of combined experience in engineering program management of hardware devices, operational continuous improvement and process development roles. Extensive knowledge of end-to-end hardware development process and life-cycle

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred)

  • Experience partnering with geographically dispersed and/or ad-hoc teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Experience in developing and writing white papers and presenting in executive level meetings

  • Travel as required to accomplish business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in Operations Management, Engineering Discipline and/or Program Management

  • Experience executing projects to PMI-PMP standards

  • Proven ability to influence others, facilitate agreement among stakeholders with different interests.

  • Experience in practicing/implementing continuous improvement methodology

  • Ability to roll up sleeves and operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time, be able to guide a team toward an objective

  • Self-motivated and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-discipline, initiative, and independence.

  • Experience with managing proprietary technology applications.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
