Develop and continuously refine Expeditors’ LCL transportation network by ensuring the most efficient, profitable, and secure consolidation/deconsolidation and movement of LCL freight.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a smooth and timely process flow regarding the LCL ocean import freight;

  • Accurate and timely data entry of event codes into the operational system;

  • Track and Trace of all ocean LCL import files and report the status/updates to our internal customers;

  • Check vessel ETA with Ocean Carriers regarding the status of the consols containers and plan the transport and devanning with CFS

  • Inform our Customs department to prepare all necessary in transit documents (T1)

  • Contact Carriers with regards to release relating to consol container arrivals, including cross-dock, whilst communicating with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Arrange transport with our Ground Network Service relating to on-carriage to final destination.

  • Ensure that our internal customers’ freight are being delivered on a timely basis and within the agreed KPI’s

  • Prepare all the destination charges and bill our internal customers accordingly.

  • Check unloading with CFS, and report all unusual incidents by informing all relevant stakeholders, i.e. claims, overlanded and/or shortages etc.

  • Follow up on invoices and process within agreed/specified timeframes.

  • Follow up on all overdue and unpaid invoices and seek solutions.

  • Consistently work on maintaining good understanding, communication and relationship with our Shipping lines, 3rd party service providers and carriers;

  • To make sure that we meet our internal and external compliance regulations /standards at all times and that this is according to our government regulations;

  • Fully understand the ocean import process flow and be proactive involved in looking for best practices to improve the operational process to be more effective, efficient and productive;

  • Make sure that we meet our KPI standards in accordance with the company’s procedures/requirements;

  • Timely response on emails from customers, suppliers, carriers and our internal network;

  • Involve management accordingly in case of any escalations.

  • Background or knowledge in logistics is preferred.

  • Understanding of Ocean documentation process is preferred.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of incoterms.

  • Be a team player and have the ability to listen, comprehend and effectively communicate to

obtain positive results, show a good work attitude and mentality

  • Pro-active and strong organizational skills.

  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook).

  • Be able to write and speak in English and Dutch.
